Let me start by saying I am a fan of Mechanix Wear gloves in general. I've work many different kinds of these gloves for work and recreation. These are probably the most comfortable gloves I've worn for work (oilfield), but they aren't the most durable.

I'll base this review on work gloves since that's when I wore them. So far, I've tried different gloves with knuckle protection like the Mechanix Wear SHD-91-010 Safety Mpact ORHD Hi-Viz Gloves, Yellow, Large, Ironclad KONG Waterproof Insulated Cold Weather CE4242 Gloves - X-Large and Ringers Roughneck Insulated Waterproof Windproof 266-10 CE4232 Work Gloves - Large. The M-Pact II are hands down the most comfortable.

One thing to note is that I wear an XL in the regular Mechanix gloves. I usually wear a large when it comes to the type with knuckle protection. With the M-Pact II I had to wear a medium. They still fit, but that also might be why the stitching blew out.

What I liked:

Comfort - They're the most comfortable. There is a layer of padding on the palm that isn't too thick.

Grip - The grip seems to hold up even when you get oil on them. The grip also isn't stiff like the ORHD.

Dexterity - I found myself keeping these on even when I was tightening and loosening bolts. I can't say that with the other gloves.

Re-usability - I was able to wash these and use them again. They didn't get stiff after going through the wash either.

What I didn't like:

Stitching - The stitching went out on me on one of the pinky fingers. This happened in less than a week of use. It did not impact the glove's performance, but it was a little disappointing.

Wear/Removal - The ORHD slips on and off easily even with the Velcro lashed. The M-Pact II has to have the Velcro undone every time. This might also be because I was wearing a medium when I normally wear a large.

Overall, I really liked these gloves. I got them for free but I would definitely buy a pair. It was a little discouraging that the stitching gave out, but they were still comfortable and the stitching on the palm was still intact.

I would have given these five stars, but I just can't look past the stitching. Probably I would have given them 4 1/2 if I could have.

If you're looking for a glove for dirt biking or ATV riding they'd probably be perfect. If you're looking for a glove that can put up to some abuse, you might want to consider the fact that they might not hold up. I'll use them again for work, but that's because I think comfort is more important than durability.

I purchased these gloves for the purpose of doing some karting. They worked out great, I just wish I had the same protection they provided for my ribs :). I ran around 120 laps at an indoor karting event and as sore as my body was afterwards, my hands were unscathed. These will also be replacing my current pair of Mechanix shop gloves that I've had for a few years now and have seen better days.
